The Wedding Party
The Bridesmaids
- Becca Hoelscher—Maid of Honor

- Becca and Kathleen met playing soccer together in high school, and it was Becca that first brought Kathleen to the church where she met the Forbes family. They both then attended Tabor College and their friendship even survived being roommates for a year. Last year Becca married Micah, and they are expecting a little Hoelscher in August, who they affectionately refer to as Peanut. They live in Wichita, KS with their dog Lily.
- Megan Kline

- Although Megan and Kathleen met in ninth grade, Megan moved early on and they saw each other infrequently until Megan moved back to Houston after college. Fortunately, they were both looking for roommates at the time, and thus began two glorious years together involving much ice cream and Gilmore Girls. Megan has been like a daughter to the Forbes family since she was young, and is very happy for Kathleen and not jealous at all. Megan married Peter in August 2006 and now has her own wonderful family-in-law. Megan and Peter are studying at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey, and are constantly entertained by their beagle, Bono.
- Carmen Petrick

- Kathleen met Carmen through Megan when she randomly moved to Houston and Megan decided that the two of them would get along and there was no reason why the three of them couldn’t all be roommates. The first day they were introduced was the day they went looking for apartments. Thankfully they did get along great, and remain very good friends. Carmen is a world champion punner, a marathon finisher, a juggler, a traveler, and a PhD student for math education at UT-Austin.
- Ellen Hathaway

- Ellen and Kathleen met at Tabor where they both played for the soccer team, but during Kathleen’s senior year they both took the school trip to Europe and became close friends. They have many things in common including a love for Cadbury, Lord of the Rings, and a tendency to obsess over TV shows and watch them for an entire weekend straight. They have traveled all over the country to see each other, and Kathleen will be visiting Ellen in Kansas this August when she will marry Jason Janoski.
- Amanda Whaley

- Amanda and Kathleen have been friends since high school where they took many of the same classes. Amanda attended the University of South Carolina with Kathleen’s oldest brother, David, and she majored in physics. She is currently a high school physics teacher and Kathleen’s other roommate. The two of them traveled to Greece and Russia together, and thoughts of a future trip to Africa have been entertained. Kathleen finds it very entertaining to watch scary movies with Amanda because of how afraid she gets.
- Courtney Hilliard

- Courtney and Kathleen went to high school together and were in many of the same classes. Although their ways diverged during college (Courtney attended THE Ohio State University), they both moved back to Houston, and ended up becoming roommates. This brought them much closer, as they saw each other through many an emotional breakdown. Courtney was also a founding member of the book club she and Kathleen have been involved in for over two years, which is fitting as she is a library assistant and is studying for her masters in library science. She is also a fan of taking random trips to anywhere.
The Groomsmen
- Scott Forbes—Best Man

- Scott and David met the day he was born and were instant friends. In fact, Scott is David’s favorite younger brother and was always treated as such. Scott’s interests include birds, insects, plants and every other living organism. He and his wonderful wife Vanessa are both currently finishing their M.B.A’s at the University of St. Thomas while working at Stallion Oilfield Services. Scott and David make a formidable team in most board games but do not fare well on separate teams.
- Chris Forbes
-
- Chris is David’s older brother and current roommate. A professional golfer through his twenties, Chris has added building a Farmers insurance agency to his long hours on the course. Always good friends and brothers, Chris has been a special influence in David’s life over the last two years making them even closer. Chris was just recently married to his wonderful wife Kim who is a schoolteacher in Katy. It is rumored that Chris has set some state records for the amount of wedding parties he has been in.
- John Chadwick
-
- John is technically not blood-related to David but is considered his third brother. They were best friends since they were introduced at a young age while their mothers were discussing La Leche League issues. John and David grew up together and share tons of interests. They are both experienced anglers and enjoy getting out on the water together but have both been caught exaggerating the day’s catch on numerous occasions. A graduate of UT-Austin, he is a successful engineer here in Houston.
- Barry Smith

- Barry Smith and David met and became close friends in the confines of the cart-barn of a country club in Katy during and after high school. Barry and his wife Andrea are the proud parents of daughter Gwendolyn and son Jacob. David was highly honored by being asked to take on the role of godfather to Jacob. Barry and David are known to have complete conversations with each other in impersonations of other people’s voices and hope to complete an Oscar winning screenplay shortly.
- Barry Stagg

- Barry Stagg is David’s good friend in addition to being Kathleen’s youngest brother. He is a recent graduate of Texas Tech University and is already a full time theater teacher in Katy as well as summer youth pastor intern at Faith Community Church. Although they have known each other only a short time Barry and David’s mutual experience together during a men’s retreat to Seguin, TX has bonded them for life. Both can be heard yelling at the television or radio during any Houston Astros game all summer long.
- David Stagg

- David Stagg is also David’s good friend with the added bonus of being Kathleen’s oldest younger brother. David is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is currently working at Rice University as a graphic and web designer. David and David both enjoy a love of dogs, sports, energy drinks and judging junior high talent shows together. As well as being a talented singer and guitarist, David is the designer and force behind this wonderful website. Thanks David.
