There were some glitches with the online RSVP system which kept some people’s family codes from working. We apologize for the inconvenience! The problem has been fixed and everything should be up and running.

It is so fun for us to keep track of everyone who is coming! This special day would not be near as meaningful without the presence of our family and friends. If you are unable to make it, know that you will be missed!

Well, after much hard work we got the invitations out. I hope you like them! David and I want to especially thank my brother David for the print design and some assembly help, my mother and Karen Dwyer for a LOT of assembly help, my brother’s girlfriend Margaret, and my friend and bridesmaid Courtney for their help as well.

After all that went into getting these finished, of course we noticed a problem right afterwards! The location is listed as being in Houston, TX which is what House Plantation has listed on their website as their address. However, according to Google maps and the USPS, they are actually located in Hockley, TX.

So please! When you are looking up directions, use Hockley - not Houston - and spread the word!

Six weeks and counting…

A couple updates to the website:

• See the “For Our Guests” page for hotel information as well as links to things to do in Houston if you are coming in from out of town.
• At David’s suggestion, we added yet another registry - Lowe’s! I figure if we get to register for pretty things for the house and such, we can register for some manly tools as well!

David and I attended one of my best friend’s wedding in Wichita, KS this past weekend, and it was so exciting to think that the next one we go to will be our own. It’s less than two months away now, and we are ready! Mentally and emotionally, that is. Logistically? Not yet. But I am confident that it will come together and I will be able to relax starting October 2.

How is the planning going, you ask? Very well, thanks. The big thing we’re working on now is invitations. I love making cards and scrapbooking, and although I didn’t want the stress of making my invitations at first, when I figured out what I wanted I realized I couldn’t have it any other way, and it would have to be done myself. Thankfully, I have some good help! Hopefully they will be mailed out within the next couple of weeks, and you can start RSVP-ing!

We’re also trying to figure out the music. I still have no idea what music we should process to, or even what we will dance to. Does anyone have any suggestions?

After Six Bridesmaid Dress

We did the bulk of our registering this weekend. Who knew it would be so tiring? For anyone who wants my advice, I have some recommendations to make. If you want to register in-store, don’t waste time making decisions while you’re there. Just scan everything you like, then later you can go online and take off what you don’t want. My other recommendation is to do everything you can online, and just go to the store to make crucial decisions that you have to see in person.

Anyway, check out our registry links to the left at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and Crate and Barrel! We still have some changes to make, but we’re excited about our choices overall.

Tuxes, on the other hand, were by far the easiest and most fun part of planning so far. We just grabbed my brothers, went to Men’s Wearhouse after church, and figured the whole thing out in about thirty minutes. And those boys are gonna look good! But of course, not better than the groom. No one could ever look better than him!

If only bridesmaid dresses were that simple to figure out…

The RSVP system is now working! How do you use it? Simple!

• First, visit the RSVP section of our site.
• Now, when you are sent your invitation, a Response Code was mailed along with it. You’re going to need this code to RSVP. Enter in that Response Code on the RSVP page, along with the zip code your invitation was mailed to, and hit the Submit button.
• Once you’re logged in, you will see all the family members (or guests or children) associated with your invitation. You can then select “Yes” or “No” for each individual invitee.
• From here, you can also do some other things. If the name reads “Guest”, you can delete that and change it to their actual name. Same for any listing that says “Child”. You will also be able to enter in any additional notes or food concerns.
